KAIZER CHIEFS HEAD INTO THE BREAK WITH A DEFEAT

The Glamour Boys’ first home league defeat of the season, a weak 0-1 reverse against Cape Town City, was hardly the result fans wanted before a long hiatus. Their next match is away to in-form Golden Arrows on October 28th.

GOLDEN ARROWS FLYING IN 2023

Arrows have won three consecutive away games in the league, their joint-best run of that kind in history. Their tally of 17 points from the first eight games this season, according to OptaJabu, is their best start to a campaign in 15 years. They got 18 from eight all the way back in 2008-09. This is one of THE form teams in the country. Chiefs will hope that the break throws Abafana Bes’thende off their stride and breaks their rhythm. If it doesn’t, Amakhosi face another tricky test. After defeat to City, The Glamour Boys are now 13 points adrift of leaders Sundowns. The Brazilians can stretch that gap to 16 if they win their game in hand, so the title race in South Africa already feels like a formality once again in 2023-24.
