HOW AMAKHOSI OVERLOOKED TOP TRAINER
In other news, one of Mzansi’s leading fitness trainers, Simone Conley, has revealed how she nearly moved to Chiefs.
Following success at Highlands Park, Banyana Banyana and Mamelodi Sundowns, Conley became a wanted woman before making a big financial move to Saudi Arabia’s women’s side Al-Ittihad in July.
In addition to AmaZulu’s contact, the highly-rated conditioning coach revealed that she was once on the brink of joining Amakhosi.
“I also did get a call from Kaizer Motaung Jr. and he basically told me that look, they want me as part of the team. I went there and did a presentation,” Conley told iDiski Times’ Lethabo Kganyago.
“They offered me the job, and for some reason, they retracted that two weeks later and went with someone else (chuckles).
“Yeah, they opted for someone else. But I mean it was meant to be, otherwise I wouldn’t be sitting where I am right now and I wouldn’t be going where I am right now,” she added.
