After joining Cape Town City as its new assistant coach, Mzansi was more than convinced that former Kaizer Chiefs star Lebogang Manyamwa was seemingly given the best birthday gift in PSL history.
Confirmed reports have it that the former Soweto giants midfielder maestro will join Eric Tankler as his assistant after the club confirmed the news.
FORMER KAIZER CHIEFS STAR IN SHOCKING NEW ROLE
No doubt, this comes as a shocker to many. Lebogang Manyama recently retired after suffering a career-threatening injury that saw him on the sidelines for months.
A few months after hanging his boots in June, the 32-year-old football maestro will return to competitive football as Tinkler’s assistant.

Cape Town City confirmed the news on X. The club posted: “Cape Town City are delighted to confirm the appointment of former club captain Lebogang Manyama as an assistant coach in Eric Tinkler’s technical team. Welcome home, Lebza! 💙”
In the backdrop of the post, the star was more than delighted with his new position. However, little is known when he will join the technical team.
The rumour mill has it that the former Kaizer Chiefs star could be on the bench when Cape Town City travel to TS Galaxy on Wednesday as he begins his new career.
MANYAMA’S AGE REVEALED
Ironically, the new appointment comes barely after his birthday. Mzansi was quick to jump to the conclusion that this was the best birthday gift ever.
Many were more than convinced that this was on the cards and the news came at the right time. The retired star was reportedly born on 13 September 1990 in Tembisa, South Africa.
He started off his career with a stint with Ajax Cape Town in 2010 before leaving for SuperSport United in 2013. In 2016, he joined Cape Town City. Two years later, he joined Kaizer Chiefs in 2018 before leaving the club in 2022.
Against the backdrop of his exit, he retired from football after a career-threatening injury took a toll on his fitness.
