Bonfils-Caleb Bimenyimana says he is “happy to be free” after being released by Kaizer Chiefs.

BIMENYIMANA HAPPY TO LEAVE KAIZER CHIEFS

The Glamour Boys announced they “have come to an agreement with striker, Bonfils-Caleb Bimenyimana to part ways after one season”.

Burundi striker Caleb Bimenyimana spent just a single season with Chiefs. He did end the 2022-23 campaign as their top scorer, but his form since the turn of the year has fallen off badly. The big Burundian scored just a single goal in the calendar year 2023, in the Nedbank Cup round of 16 against Casric. He scored eight goals in total across 21 Amakhosi appearances.

BIMENYIMANA SPEAKS AFTER NATURENA EXIT

After Chiefs confirmed the news, the striker took to Instagram to speak about his departure from Naturena:

“It was a hard decision to take but after all what happened it worth it,” he stated.

“All I can say is thank you lord, my prayers has been answered.

“I feel really happy to be free. God never disappoints me. I can’t wait for the next chapter.”

There were loan offers from PSL clubs and concrete enquiries from Ukraine and Poland. Caleb came close to joining Moroccan giants Wydad Casablanca but the move broke down at the last minute. The 25-year-old is still a key part of the Burundi national team setup, though, having scored and assisted in their most recent AFCON qualifier against Namibia.
