SOUTH AFRICANS TO SCORE IN THE ENGLISH PREMIER LEAGUE
On Sunday, Burnley and Bafana Bafana striker Lyle Foster became the ninth South African to net in the English Premier League. He follows in the footsteps of greats like Phil Masinga, Shaun Bartlett, Eric Tinkler, Quinton Fortune, Mark Fish, Benni McCarthy, Steven Pienaar and Mbulelo Mabizela.
FOSTER FLYING THE BAFANA BAFANA FLAG
22-year-old Foster scored with a smart improvised effort with Burnley trailing 2-0. They eventually lost the game 3-1 against Aston Villa, but it was another encouraging showing for the former Orlando Pirates striker. On debut against Man City a fortnight ago he completed two tackles, made five ball recoveries and won five duels. He also completed 20 passes, the most out of any Burnley player on the night.
