Kaizer Chiefs have made a new offer for Poland-based holding midfielder Thabo Cele, according to reports.
KAIZER CHIEFS IDENTIFY CELE AS BLOM REPLACEMENT?
Chiefs have been interested in Thabo Cele for some time, having made an offer for him as recently as 2022 when Stuart Baxter was still at the helm. Instead, at that time, he joined Polish Ekstraklasa side Radomiak. Prior to that, he spent five years playing his football in Portugal.

CELE NOW A FREE AGENT
According to information gathered by SABC Sport, Cele will become a free agent from 1 August following a decision by Radomiak not to extend his contract. Crucially, they’ve also signed a replacement.

Cele spent the past few weeks in South Africa on COSAFA Cup squad duty. Bafana finished third at the regional tournament in Durban and the 26-year-old was impressive at the base of midfield. It is believed Chiefs have offered a three-year deal with expectation that Cele will put pen to paper, if all the finer details are ironed out.
The Glamour Boys have made seven high-profile signings during the current transfer already, but new head coach Molefi Ntseki hasn’t closed the door on more new faces arriving.
KMAMASHU-BORN STAR OPEN TO A RETURN
During the COSAFA Cup, Cele told SABC Sport he was open to moving back home and was well aware of interest and speculation surrounding his future.
“You can never say never in football, maybe will come back to South Africa, even though I still want to grow in Europe. We never know about my future, I can’t rule out playing for a PSL club,” he said.
“Last season, I started very well but couldn’t finish it very well, due to injuries. I just want to use this COSAFA Cup to revive myself, but not only for me, for the national team as well, I want us to win this trophy.”
Cele made 20 appearances for Radomiak last season and he has 7 Bafana Bafana caps to his name. He was given his international team debut by Stuart Baxer in 2017.
