It’s the 2023-24 season, but Kaizer Chiefs seem to have retained some pretty bad habits.
KAIZER CHIEFS TOOTHLESS IN ATTACK AGAINST GALAXY
Whate xactly does Molefi Ntseki expect from a brand new front three that haven’t played together before? Tebogo Potsane, Ranga Chivaviro and Pule Mmodi were the attacking trio yesterday with Mduduzi Mdantsane tucked in just behind Chivaviro. That’s four brand new signings expected to produce cohesion and chemistry in their first outing together.
DU PREEZ SORELY MISSED
As with last season, Chiefs looked heavily affected by the absence of an in-form player. Du Preez showed his worth at the back-end of 2022-23 and he’s continued in fine form this term, scoring in each of his last two outings. The Glamour Boys need him back and they need him back soon.
HEAD COACH MAKING EXCUSES AGAIN
Like his predecessor Arthur Zwane, Molefi Ntseki served up a pretty bland explanation for their defeat at Mbombela.
“It’s unfortunate that the chances we got, we didn’t bury those chances,” was just one of these. He also blamed a lack of aggression and match sharpness, as well as their failure to win second balls. How on earth is it acceptable to lack aggression in a top-flight encounter?
Ntseki must pick up his charges and get them ready for the visit of AmaZulu on Saturday August 26th. If you were the coach, what changes would you make for that match? Let us know in the comments.
