Kaizer Chiefs fans have a few reasons to be cautiously optimistic at the start of a new week.
KAIZER CHIEFS WELCOME BACK KEY QUARTET
The Glamour Boys played a friendly match against Motsepe Foundation Championship side TUKS on Friday. Encouragingly, Nkosingiphile Ngcobo, Keagan Dolly and Ranga Chivaviro all featured in the match, indicating they’re inching closer to a return to first-team action. Meanwhile, Mozambique defender Edmilson Dove is fit again after a groin injury in pre-season against Young Africans. He was on the bench for his nation’s dramatic 3-2 win over Benin in an AFCON qualifier.
FIT-AGAIN STARS FEEL LIKE NEW SIGNINGS
Experienced duo Edmilson Dove and Keagan Dolly haven’t played a competitive match yet this term. Dolly had surgery in April on a knee injury, while Dove was laid low during pre-season. Ranga Chivaviro has made just two appearances in his debut season for the Glamour Boys and will be raring to go and make his presence felt. Needless to say, Molefi Ntseki will be delighted to have players of this calibre returning to the fold at a crunch stage of the season. Also, there’s another one.

MSHINI NEEDS TO CATCH A BREAK
Additionally, the return of fan-favourite Nkosingiphile Ngcobo will be a massive boost for anybody following the club. Injuries have plagued the talented playmaker for the past year, and supporters will be desperate for the talented 24-year-old to stay fit in 2023-24. If he does, as the saying goes, he’s just like a brand-new signing.
Can these four returnees hit the ground running and increase the feel-good factor around Chiefs at the moment? They face Royal AM on Saturday, 16th September at 17:30.
