Kaizer Chiefs have welcomed a host of new stars to their playing squad. Do their squad numbers matter to you, and can these sometimes burden the players?
KAIZER CHIEFS RING THE CHANGES
Ranga Chivaviro arrives to bolster the Glamour Boys’ attacking options and will wear the number 7 jersey, previously owned by Kaizer Motaung Jr and Katlego Mphela. Mduduzi Mdantsane inherits the legendary Eic Mathoho’s number 3 jersey, which is a strange number for an attacking midfielder to wear but there you go.
DITLHOKWE ARRIVES AS A YOUNG LEADER
Pule Mmodi grabs the number 13, once owned by Valery Nahayo. Thatayaone Ditlhokwe wears 24, a number former Bafana Bafana left-back Tsepo Masilela once donned for the Glamour Boys. Given Msimango will wear 25, previously worn by the legendary Bernard Parker.
Edson Castillo wears 17, previously owned by Shaun Bartlett. Tebogo Potsane, a recent arrival from TS Galaxy, has yet to have a jersey number assigned.
