WHY CHIEFS RELEASED MAHLATSI

Talented 25-year-old midfielder Kamohelo Mahlatsi made just seven appearances for Chiefs last term, owing to injuries and a loss of form. He joined from Soweto rivals Swallows FC at the start of the 2022-23 campaign. He has gotten zero minutes under new coach Molefi Ntseki.

Meanwhile, 20-year-old Donay Jansen could get a chance in te first-team after coming through the academy. He trained with the senior side prior to the weekend clash with Royal AM. He scored 12 goals in the DDC last season and opened his account for this campaign with a strike against Orlando Pirates.
