Kaizer Chiefs have let go of a host of players during this window, including superstar Khama Billiat, to balance out their frenetic incoming activity.

KAIZER CHIEFS KEY DEPARTURES

Central defender and youth product Siyabonga Ngezana made the move to Europe with Romanian giants FCSB, formerly known as Steaua Bucharest. Phathutshedzo Nange has joined Gavin Hunt at SuperSport United and Thabani Dube is now with Richards Bay. 26-year-old winger Kgaogelo Sekgota made the switch to Cape Winelands outfit Stellenbosch. Veteran midfielder Cole Alexander has been training with Stuart Baxter’s Helsingborgs in Sweden, but a move hasn’t materialized.

Caleb Bimenyimana is reportedly in negotiations to make a move to Libya. Meanwhile, Khama Billiat is in advanced negotiations with Egyptian giants Zamalek, although nothing is confirmed as yet.

Both Chiefs and AmaZulu are winless after three rounds of DStv Premiership action this term. Their meeting on Saturday, August 26 at FNB Stadium therefore takes on extra significance. A win would kickstart the campaign, but a defeat would see more questions asked and storm clouds continue to circle.
