Kaizer Chiefs are currently stepping up their pre-season with their seven new signings in camp, but could they soon an eighth in Mpumalanga?
So far Chiefs have announced, Thathayoane Ditlhokwe, Given Msimango, Mduduzi Mdantsane, Edson Castillo, Pule Mmodi, Ranga Chivaviro and Tebogo Potsane.
Those players putting pen to paper at Chiefs has been more or less an open secret for a while now, with fans and the football fraternity just waiting for the club to officially announce them. Looking at that list, three of the six in Chivaviro, Mmodi, Mdantsane and Potsane are capable of playing in offensive positions. But it looks like new head coach Molefi Ntseki may not be done yet in that regard.
According to Soccer-Laduma, Chiefs scouts have been keenly observing the COSAFA Cup tournament currently going on in Durban. A player that has caught their attention happens to be winger from Malawi called Lanjesi Nkhoma.
CHIEFS EYEING NKHOMA
“For now, it’s just an enquiry. They have asked about him (Nkhoma) with the intention of knowing him more, And they can then maybe bring him on for trials or something like that. He is still young and has room to grow and improve. But so far, what they have” said a source to the same publication.
These news do make sense as with the recent reports of looking at players such as Surprise Ralani and then looking to offload two more wingers in Kgaugelo Sekgota and Kamohelo Mahlatsi. Chiefs also recently added Potsane to the mix so realistically speaking there can’t be room for all of Keagan Dolly, Ashley du Preez, Pule Mmodi, Potsane, Mduduzi Shabalala, Mdantsane and even Christian Saile who can play in wide areas- in one squad.
Nkhoma is a 21-year-old winger who currently plies his trade for Malawian giants Nyasa Big Bullets, will he be a Chiefs player at the end of the COSAFA Cup?
