Cape Town City handed Kaizer Chiefs their fourth defeat of the 2023/2024 Premier Soccer League campaign with a 1-0 victory on Tuesday night at the FNB Stadium, according to The Sowetan. Forward Khanyisa Mayo scored the winning goal for the visitors.
Cape Town City jumped to fifth place in the league standings after registering their fourth win from nine matches and occupy fifth place with 13 points. Mamelodi Sundowns top the league table with a 100% record from eight matches.

However, the Citizens weren’t finished handing out losses as they posted a smart social media image directed at Kaizer Chiefs on X, formerly known as Twitter.
The club from the Mother City poked fun at the Glamour Boys’ recent ‘Kaizer Chips’ product launch and captioned the X post: ‘Crisps that have 3 points.’

The post was shared over 3500 times and ‘liked’ close to 10 000 times. Many social media users saw the humour of the post and filed it under football banter. While hardened Kaizer Chiefs supporters took offence and voiced their frustrations at being disrespected by the Cape Town team.
