Kaizer Chiefs might have found a long-term heir to the considerable throne of club skipper Itumeleng Khune.
CHIEFS SPOT THE ‘NEXT KHUNE’ AT NATURENA
According to reports via SoccerLaduma, Kaizer Chiefs have earmarked a long-term replacement for Itumeleng Khune. Khune is now in his 17th season with the club he’s served with such distinction. He recently made his 364th appearance for Amakhosi, the most of any player in the club’s PSL era history. The 2023-24 campaign will be his last at the club as a player.
NKOSI IS NEXT FOR KAIZER CHIEFS
Katlehong-born Lungile Nkosi, still just 20, is a man the Chiefs management expects big things from in the future. He recently recovered from a nine-month injury layoff and is ready to go again. Alongside Bernard Parker’s cousin Donay Janse, Nkosi has been invited to train with the senior side after excelling with the Diski Challenge structure.
AMAKHOSI STILL LICKING THEIR WOUNDS
The Glamour Boys have an agonizing wait until their next fixture against Golden Arrows on October 28th. It’s not an ideal time to be waiting around, considering they just suffered their first home league defeat of the season, and their fourth overall in the DStv Premiership this term. Molefi Ntseki’s men are already 13 points off the title pace and leaders Sundowns have a game in hand.
