Former Kaizer Chiefs coach Muhsin Ertugral has identified TWO players that he believes will be very key for the team this season.
In an interview with Isolezwe, Ertugral dubbed Edson Castillo as the pillar in this current Chiefs squad, and fortunately for him, he’s not watching him for the first time.
According to Ertugral, Castillo sent tongues wagging while representing the Venezuelan U20 national team against Argentina a few years ago.

For Ertugral, over the years, for Chiefs to succeed, the midfield position has always been held in high regard because of the talented players that previously played there.
And Castillo fits that profile hence Ertugral is confident that he will deliver for Chiefs this season. The 29-year-old has already netted three goals in seven matches this season.
FORMER KAIZER CHIEFS COACH SEES A STAR IN CASTILLO
“He will be a pillar of strength for Chiefs, especially in midfield. Let him be given some time. Fortunately, I saw him a few years ago for his U20 national team against Argentina. He was talk of the town,” Ertugral said as per the publication.
“It appeared that a lot teams wanted him. Although all the positions on the field are important, at Chiefs, the fundamental area of success is the midfield. They have been som very talented players in that position,” continued Ertugral.
ERTUGRAL CANNOT LEAVE MMODI OUT
Meanwhile, Ertugral is of the view that Pule Mmodi will also play a huge role in taking Chiefs to another level following his arrival from Golden Arrows.
Mmodi has already netted three goals for Chiefs this season, and is the only player in the current squad that recently made Hugo Broos’ Bafana Bafana team.
“Another player that I think will help Chiefs is Mmodi. I forget the name of the other short guy who plays on the right hand side upfront. It’s been a while since I went to watch Chiefs at the stadium but I’m very impressed,” added Ertugral.
