Meanwhile, one man who won’t be available against Royal AM is young goalkeeper Bontle Molefe. The Glamour Boys tied the talented youth academy product down to a new long-term contract earlier this year. He sits behind Brandon Petersen, club skipper Itumeleng Khune and Bruce Bvuma in the goalkeeping pecking order, but big things are expected of the youngster, who is seen as the eventual and natural successor to Khune. The current club captain also came through the youth ranks, starting his journey at the club aged 12.
Molefi was born in Soweto and has been part of the furniture at the club since Ernst Middendorp was still around. He and Mdu Shabalala both travelled to Belgium in April last year to enjoy a short trial with Royal Antwerp.
A wrist injury has ruled Molef out of action for the majority of the 2023-24 campaign.
