Kaizer Chiefs winger Pule Mmodi will replace the injured Themba Zwane in the Bafana Bafana squad.
Mshishi picked up a severe cut on his eye during Downs’ 1-1 draw with Chiefs in the MTN8 first leg at the FNB stadium.
On Monday, Bafana Bafana coach Hugo Broos announced that the Kaizer Chiefs man will replace Zwane.
Other changes to the squad include Sphephelo Sithole replacing Luke Le Roux and Mlungisi Mbunjana in for Teboho Mokoena.
KAIZER CHIEFS HAVE A PLAYER IN THE NATIONAL TEAM
“We have seven injuries. [Kuliso] Mudau was injured but he played last Saturday, we didn’t know that, nobody informed us about that,” Broos said.
“We have Hlongwane, who is injured, we have Zwane, Maseko, Le Roux, Morena and now at last Mokoena, so that’s a lot of injuries.
“I’m not happy about that because these are preparation games for AFCON and World Cup qualifiers.
“I don’t blame someone by saying that but it means I have to change seven players compared to Morocco three months ago,” he said.
Bafana Bafana will play Namibia and DR Congo on 9 and 13 September in two friendly matches at the Orlando Stadium.
