Kaizer Chiefs are favourites to sign Stellenbosch midfielder Sibongiseni Mthethwa from Stellenbosch.
According to Soccer Laduma, Amakhosi have tabled an R8 Million offer to Stellies for the 28-year-old central midfielder. KAIZER CHIEFS TO BRING R8 MILLION MIDFIELDER TO NATURENA
“Chiefs are going all out to sign Mthethwa. They are now ready to break the bank in a bid to sign the player before Friday,” Soccer Laduma was quoted.
Last week, Kaizer Chiefs head coach Molefi Ntseki said he would love to sign the 28-year-old central midfielder but that did not go well with Stellenbosch coach Steve Barker.
“As a coach, I wouldn’t do that,” responded Barker when he was asked by iDiski Times.
“I have got the desire to have many players from other clubs, but at the end of the day, if we are Stellenbosch, we want a footballer from another team, we get our management, our CEO [Rob Benadie] to engage formally with them and that is the way we do it.
“It is a bit frustrating when it goes out to the media because the player is a Stellenbosch player and for me that is not the way to show it.”
Kaizer Chiefs next travel to Polokwane to face SupoerSport United at the Peter Mokaba Stadium on Wednesday night.
