Kaizer Chiefs are reportedly decided to release two experienced players at the end of the season.
According to a Phakaaathi, former Bidvest Wits defender Sifiso Hlanti could leave Amakhosi at the end of the season.
The 34-year-old left-back’s contract expires in June 2024 but the club is unlikely to renew it.
KAIZER CHIEFS SET TO RELEASE SITHEBE AND HLANTI?
Since Edmilson Dove joined Chiefs, Hlanti has seen less game time and might even seek a move away in January.
“According to a source in the know, Chiefs have been keeping tabs on Fawaaz Basadien from Stellenbosch FC and are planning to make him an offer once the current campaign wraps up,” reports Phakaaathi.
“Stellenbosch has given the nod to sell Fawaaz Basadien to Kaizer Chiefs when the season ends.
“Basadien is being lined up as the replacement for Sifiso Hlanti, as the coaching crew has decided not to renew his contract come June,” said Phakaathi.
Another player set to leave Kaizer Chiefs is Siyethemba Sithebe.
The 30-year-old midfielder has struggled for game time this season and with Sibongiseni Mthethwa, Yusuf Maart and Edson Castillo preferred in the middle of the park, chances are Sithebe might get released by the end of the season.
