Kaizer Chiefs star Edson Castillo is having a pleasant week after earning a call up with Venezuela.

KAIZER CHIEFS STAR EDSON CASTILLO TO FACE BRAZIL
Following his move to Chiefs in July from Monagas in his homeland, the 29-year-old is set to make his seventh appearance for Venezuela.

The news was revealed by Chiefs after Castillo’s four goals in 12 appearances (PSL and MTN8). The midfielder’s last national runout was in February 2022, where he was an unused substitute in a 4-1 defeat to Uruguay.
“Congratulations to Edson Castillo on your National Team Call-up,” Chiefs said on their WhatsApp channel.
Venezuela, known as La Vinotinto (“The Wine-Red”),” will face the mighty Brazil in a World Cup qualifier on Friday at 02:30 in Cuiabá, Brazil.
The second World Cup qualifier will be at home to Chile next Tuesday.
Meanwhile, Chiefs are hours away from finding out who they will face in the brand-new Carling Knockout Cup.
The draw is set to take place on Tuesday at 13:00 live on SuperSport TV. Chiefs, along with last season’s top eight teams, will be seeded in order to draw and face last season’s bottom eight.
