One of Kaizer Chiefs best players has just been called up for international duty having been in top form for Amakhosi this season.

Edson Castillo has been called up to the Venezuelan national team for the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

His four goals across all competitions and his overall innovation in the Amakhosi jersey earned him this call up.

CHIEFS MIDFIELDER CASTILLO CALLED UP

Castillo has been arguably, if not, one of the best Amakhosi signings made this season.

Now, he has been called as a replacement for Jesus Bueno.

Bueno was withdrawn from the squad as a result of injury.

Thus, opening the door for Amakhosi midfielder Castillo.

Furthermore, he is one of two Amakhosi stars called up for international duty after Mduduzi Mdantsane was called up to replace Percy Tau.

AMAKHOSI DUO SET TO RETURN TO ACTION IN TIME

Both Castillo and Mdantsane will return to action when Chiefs take on Golden Arrows on 28 October 2023 after the FIFA international break.

No other players were called up for international duty with Broos opting against selecting any other Chiefs stars.
