African National Congress secretary general Fikile Mbalula had a field day poking fun of Kaizer Chiefs following their 1-0 defeat to TS Galaxy on Sunday afternoon.
His tweet left social media in stitches after Molefi Ntseki’s side suffered their second successive loss in the DStv Premiership. “BREAKING NEWS: The man who said Kaizer Chiefs is gonna be dangerous this season has been arrested,” said Mbalula on his official Twitter account.
The former Minister of Sports later deleted his post after receiving backlash from Khosi fans. On Monday morning, Mbalula pleaded with fans to be patient with the club.
“Good morning South Africa,my special greeting to amakhosi amahle this morning kuzaubuya kulunge there’s an idiom that says ‘rome was not build in one day’, ” Mbalula tweeted on Monday.
After the final whistle, Chiefs fans made their frustration known by throwing missiles at Ntseki as he was walking down the tunnel. The coach had to be escorted by police and security personnel.
