Kaizer Chiefs will be desperate to claim their first win of the PSL season this weekend, but so will AmaZulu.
PREDICTED KAIZER CHIEFS XI VS AMAZULU
Khune; Frosler, Msimango, Ditlhokwe, Hlanti; Castillo, Maart; Saile, Mdantsane, Shabalala; Du Preez
Chiefs management has been hinting at a return for club captain Itumeleng Khune, and it wouldn’t be a massive surprise to see the veteran goalkeeper recalled. Sifiso Hlanti didn’t have his best game against Galaxy last time out, but there aren’t many alternatives at left-back. The front four of Tebogo Potsane, Mduduzi Mdantsane, Pule Mmodi and Ranga Chivaviro struggled to finish the clear-cut chances they created.
Chivaviro is likely to miss out with an injury, but Ashley Du Preez has recovered from flu and is available for selection. Mduduzi Shabalala’s directness might be useful in a game that is likely to be tight.

GOALS ARE NOT NECESSARILY ON THE MENU
After three league matches this season, Amakhosi have scored just one goal, Ashley Du Preez’s equalizer in a 2-1 defeat to Sundowns. They drew a blank in a goalless draw against Chippa on the opening day and then failed to find the back of the net in a 1-0 defeat at TS Galaxy last time out. Astonishingly, all three of AmaZulu’s league encounters in 2023-24 have produced goalless stalemates. Another 0-0 draw on Saturday would probably be regarded as a good result for the visitors as they’d preserve their 100% clean sheet record.
