Pule Mmodi has started his career at Naturena on a high, scoring important goals for the club while the team’s new strikers are still trying to find their feet.
The former Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder has got his career at Naturena on a bright start. In his six matches so far this season, he has managed to help the team with a much needed contribution of 3 goals in all competitions. His performance at Naturena earned him a call up recently into the national team Bafana Bafana for the latest fixtures against Namibia and the DRC.
Kaizer Chiefs coach Molefi Ntseki has been impressed with Mmodi’s performance in the club’s gold and black colours so far. ” I think we brought in Pule Mmodi, with a clear understanding that he’s a quality player. I think scoring goals, has helped him settle well within the squad”, Molefi Ntseki said after the 3-0 win against AmaZulu. Chiefs will have to keep Mmodi in great shape so he can help the team keep a closer distance to log leaders Mamelodi Sundowns.

PULE MMODI’S PERFORMANCE HAS EARNED HIM A CALL UP TO THE NATIONAL TEAM
Bafana Bafana coach Hugo made U turn in his earlier assessment of Kaizer Chiefs. The Bafana Bafana coach indicated that he was not too impressed with Kaizer Chiefs players so far this season and therefore felt none of them deserved a spot in his team. The Belgian however did bring in Pule Mmodi to replace the injured Mamelodi Sundowns captain Themba Zwane for the international friendlies against Namibia and the DRC.
Pule has an opportunity to lead Amakhosi to a first cup triumph. His new club will take on his former employers Mamelodi Sundowns in the 2nd leg of the semi-finals of the MTN8 Knock-out. A win against Downs will put Amakhosi in a better place to finally win a trophy, something the team has not done in over 8 seasons.
