Just when some supporters were losing hope on what is perceived to be the missing piece in the Chiefs side, Amakhosi have made a move to sign Mthethwa.

The news was revealed by Stellies’ CEO Rob Benadie, who said that the Winelands club is nevertheless not keen to release the 28-year-old midfield enforcer.

“A few clubs have shown interest, including an offer from Chiefs, but as of today [Saturday], he remains firmly with us,” Benadie said as quoted by SABC Sport.

Meanwhile, Amakhosi remain with two starting midfielders in Edson Castillo and Yusuf Maart, while the likes of Siyethemba Sithebe and Samkelo Zwane have struggled to earn game time under Molefi Ntseki.
