Stellenbosch FC have completed the signing of a former Kaizer Chiefs starlet as a direct replacement for Sibongiseni Mthethwa.
Mthethwa joined Amakhosi in a bumper deal over two weeks ago, and they needed to fill the void left in that central midfield.
As a result, Steve Barker invited Darrel Matsheke over for an assessment, and the former Chiefs central midfielder has done enough to impress.

According to Matsheke’s agent Gerald Baloyi, the midfielder has put pen to paper with Stellenbosch on a one-year deal with an option to renew for a further year.

“We have finally concluded the talks with Stellenbosch,” Baloyi confirmed to FARPost.
“Darrel has signed a one-year deal and an option to extend next year.”
MATSHEKE’S BIGGEST CHANCE TO IMPRESS IN THE PSL
Matsheke can surely consider this move as his biggest to impress in the PSL after spending several seasons on loan from Chiefs.
He previously played for the now defunct Uthongathi FC before spending last season on loan at Moroka Swallows.
Upon returning from Swallows, Chiefs then decided against keeping Matsheke but could this be a story of Zitha Kwinika?
Kwinika left Chiefs at a young age, but grew to become one of the top defenders in the PSL until the very same Amakhosi paid millions of Rands to lure him from Stellies.
