With Khama Billiat having gone AWOL after the latest contract offer, new Kaizer Chiefs head coach Molefi Ntseki might have to look for his replacement soon.
NOT A PRETTY PICTURE: Summing up Billiat
KAIZER CHIEFS HAVE THREE BILLIAT REPLACEMENT OPTIONS
Kaizer Chiefs have offered Billiat a new deal but the 32-year-old has reportedly spurned it and failed to appear for pre-season. Chiefs will need to find a workable solution for this problematic situation, and one of them is right in front of their noses. Let’s take a look at the options.
Attacking midfielder Kapinga is out of contract at Sundowns and has struggled for game time at Chloorkop. Chiefs and Pirates have already been mentioned as possible suitors, and the 28-year-old could be a shrewd addition.
The Maritzburg man is highly unlikely to remain with the relegated club, and the 22-year-old is a serious prospect who can play all along the front three or in the number 10 position. He has reportedly expressed his desire to join the Glamour Boys too.
AMAKHOSI: Friendly fixture confirmed
“Mdu or die” Shabalala was a revelation for Chiefs last term, becoming a regular in the first team towards the second half of the campaign. He can operate in wide areas and centrally behind a striker, and he’s still just 19. If anybody has the personality and skill to replace Billiat’s star quality, it’s Mdu. You don’t get many better internal solutions than this.
OPEN LETTER: Billiat should inspect his options carefully
