A pair of Kaizer Chiefs youngsters are excelling for the DDC side and knocking on the door of the first team as a result.

KAIZER CHIEFS YOUNGSTERS IMPRESSIVE IN DISKI CHALLENGE

Chiefs moved ahead of Soweto rivals Orlando Pirates by virtue of goal difference owing to their 5-1 rout of Usuthu. Both clubs are on four points after drawing in last week’s meeting. Pirates beat Richards Bay 2-0 on Saturday. The Chiefs goal-scorers were Siphesihle Tati, Puso Dithejane, Wandile Duba, Donay Jansen and Omega Mdaka. Jansen and Dithejane, reportedly, are close to getting opportunities to train with the senior side. Mfundo Vilakazi also impressed in outings for the DDC side last term.

Meanwhile, last year’s champions SuperSport United have made a relatively indifferent start to their campaign. They drew last week and lost 1-0 to Sekhukhune this weekend.

FIRST TEAM FACE SUPERSPORT NEXT

Next up for Molefi Ntseki’s men is a trip to SuperSport United to face Gavin Hunt’s charges in the DStv Premiership on Wednesday the 20th of September with kickoff at 19:30. Then it’s the second leg of the MTN8 semi-finals against Sundowns on Saturday the 23rd at 15:00. Sekhukhune visit FNB Stadium midweek on September 27th followed by Cape Town City’svisit to Soweto on October 3rd.
