Talking about Mathoho, the Chiefs legend looks set to be moving back home to Limpopo next season, where he will be wearing orange.

After training with SuperSport United last week, the Thahayandou-born defender, who began his career at Bloemfontein Celtic, is reportedly close to signing for PSL newcomers Polokwane City.

“He left SuperSport United because they never made any offer. So he’s not with the team in Durban for pre-season,” a source told FARPost.

“Polokwane City are talking to him with the view of signing him. They’re not looking at assessing him, they just want to sign him,” the source added.

NEW YOUNGSTER SPOTTED AT NATURENA

In other news, Chiefs fans could have a new youngster to fall in love with. A new talent has been spotted with the Amakhosi senior team.

Following the departures of Erick Mathoho and Thabani Dube, while Edmilson Dove has seemingly moved to left-back, Amakhosi have apparently promoted Siyabonga Gumede.

The 19-year-old central defender was spotted with the senior team on Wednesday, where he is expected to be the understudy to the likes of Thatayaone Ditlhlokwe, Njabulo Ngcobo and Given Msimango.
