WOW: Horrendous Kaizer Chiefs stat involving Itumeleng Khune

KAIZER CHIEFS FACE IN-FORM GOLDEN ARROWS NEXT

Arrows have won three consecutive away games in the league, their joint-best run of that kind in history. Their tally of 17 points from the first eight games this season, according to OptaJabu, is their best start to a campaign in 15 years. They got 18 from eight all the way back in 2008-09. This is one of THE form teams in the country. Chiefs will hope that the break throws Abafana Bes’thende off their stride and breaks their rhythm. If it doesn’t, Amakhosi face another tricky test. After defeat to City, The Glamour Boys are now 13 points adrift of leaders Sundowns. The Brazilians can stretch that gap to 16 if they win their game in hand, so the title race in South Africa already feels like a formality once again in 2023-24.

MATLOU SET FOR A NEW CONTRACT

Not so long ago, George Matlou was deemed surplus to requirements at Naturena. Now, according to reports, he’s set for a contract extension with the Glamour Boys.

“The technical team is happy with his attitude and performance this season and they are the ones who have recommended that he be kept at the team for at least a further year.” a source told SoccerLaduma.

“And management had decided to offer him that one-year contract plus a one-year option. His current contract ends in June 2024 so that means he could be at the team until 2026 if the team exercises the one-year option.”
