Kaizer Chiefs fans have reason to believe their club can get a positive result away at one of the trickiest customers in the DStv Premiership. Can they get one over SuperSport United under the tutelage of Gavin Hunt?
SuperSport actually haven’t kept a clean sheet in any of their last three matches across all competitions. They battled to a 1-1 draw away to Gaborone United, and took a surprise 0-3 defeat at home to Golden Arrows in their last DStv Premiership match. Gavin Hunt’s men failed to get on the score sheet in the two games prior, a 1-0 defeat to Stellies in the MTN8 last eight and a goalless draw against ten-man AmaZulu. Needless to say, Matsatsantsa haven’t been at their disciplined and well-organized best. Gavin Hunt would love nothing more than a positive result against his old club.
KAIZER CHIEFS CANNOT AFFORD TO BE WASTEFUL
Against Royal AM, the Glamour Boys mustered 18 shots but only two found the target, and none found the back of the net. SuperSport are unlikely to be as hospitable against Molefi Ntseki’s side, so the attackers need to be clinical. Ashley Du Preez is likely to be deployed as a number 9, flanked by Pule Mmodi and Christian Saile. With Mduduzi Mdantsane slowly finding his feet in the number 10 position, the chances will continue to come. Can Chiefs tuck them away?
Kickoff between SuperSport United and Chiefs comes from Peter Mokaba Stadium at 19:30 on Wednesday evening. At the same time, Orlando Pirates and Sundowns do battle at Orlando Stadium.
