Former Kaizer Chiefs striker Wedson Nyirenda has asked fans to be more patient with newly signed goal-poacher Ranga Chivaviro.
Chivaviro joined the Soweto giants from the relegated DStv Premiership side Marumo Gallants at the start of the 2023/2024 campaign. The Limpopo-born target-man was a crucial part of Marumo Gallants’ team during the 2022/2023 season. The 30-year-old scoring machine scored ten goals in the DStv Premiership, while also netting a further seven times in the CAF Confederations Cup last season.
However, with the South African striker struggling with form since joining the team, some supporters have already started questioning his capabilities.

WEDSON NYIRENDA BELIEVES IN RANGA CHIVAVIRO
Nonetheless, Nyirenda a former striker himself for the Glamour Boys, believes Chivaviro will improve as time goes on.
“I know Ranga, he was my player at Baroka. A forceful and intelligent player. Who can hold the ball well for the team to move up,” Nyirenda told I Love Kaizer Chiefs.
“But depending on which players are playing around him. Ranga can be a good finisher for Kaizer Chiefs. Ranga can be of great service if he pushes himself into the system as soon as possible.”
KAIZER CHIEFS FANS DEMANDING
“I understand Kaizer Chiefs fans very well. You know at Chiefs you don’t need to start on a low form and expect to get applause because fans are so demanding,”
“But I know Ranga, he will turn things around. Fans just need to be a bit patient with him because he can be a useful player for the team.”
Chivaviro, who is currently injured, has made four appearances for Molefe Ntseki’s side in all competitions this season so far.
