AmaZulu star Sphesihle Maduna has reportedly been shunted to the reserves as he dreams of a move to Kaizer Chiefs.
MADUNA DREAMING OF KAIZER CHIEFS
23-year-old Maduna is currently training with the reserves after being deemed surplus to requirements at AmaZulu. Pablo Franco Martin has banished Maduna, Mswati Mavuso and Mxolisi Kunene from the first team. According to a source close to Maduna, the player rejected a contract offer from AmaZulu as he was holding out for a move to Chiefs in the off-season.
“Maduna was offered a new deal at AmaZulu but turned it down,” a source told Kickoff.
“His dream is to join Kaizer Chiefs.
“His initial contract with AmaZulu is due to expire in June next year.
“He is free to sign a pre-contract with any team in January.”
EX-AMAZULU STAR SITHEBE IS OUT OF FAVOUR AT NATURENA
Sibongiseni Mthethwa, a new arrival from Stellenbosch, is set to be the starting number 6 under Molefi Ntseki. Yusuf Maart and Edson Castillo were deployed alongside him in a midfield three against. It seems as though Siyethemba Sithebe is now far down the pecking order.
“You know there were talks to renew Sithebe for another year until June 2025 but since the team has signed Sibongiseni (Mthethwa), it doesn’t look good for Sithebe,” the Siya source reported on SoccerLaduma.
“The club would like to see him finish his contract but they won’t renew it. But also there is the possibility of him moving earlier than that if there are offers in January whether on loan or a permanent move,” they added.
BRAZIL 1-1 VENEZUELA: Castillo doesn’t even make the bench
Could the clubs strike some type of mutually beneficial deal? It would be ironic if this was how Sithebe ends up leaving the club, seeing as though he arrived from AmaZulu in similar circumstances.
