Prior to his time at Stellenbosch, Mthethwa showcased his skills at Royal Eagles and Black Leopards.
However, it was with Stellenbosch that he truly made a name for himself, featuring in 29 appearances for the Western Cape side.
His impressive performances caught the attention of national selectors, earning him his first cap for Bafana Bafana in September 2022.
