Kaizer Chiefs star Given Msimango has discussed his ambitions of representing Bafana Bafana.
MSIMANGO DISCUSSES BAFANA BAFANA
Msimango was called up for the preliminary squad against Morocco in an AFCON qualifier in May but didn’t make the final group. He saw former TS Galaxy teammates Andile Mbunjana and Bathusi Aubaas make the cut and he’s happy and proud to see them both succeeding.
The 26-year-old Kaizer Chiefs man was named again in a provisional group to face Eswathini and Ivory Coast, and that final selection will be made on Thursday 5 October. He has played 11 matches across all competitions for the Glamour Boys this term but wasn’t in the side which lost to Cape Town City at the weekend.
He recently spoke to iDiski Times at length on his Bafana ambitions and how he’s willing to bide his time until the chance arrives.
“I’m always a hopeful guy, you know,” said Msimango.
KAIZER CHIEFS ARE ALREADY 13 POINTS OFF THE TITLE PACE
After defeat to City, The Glamour Boys are now 13 points adrift of leaders Sundowns. The Brazilians can stretch that gap to 16 if they win their game in hand. The title race in South Africa feels like a formality once again this season. Chiefs next face Golden Arrows on Saturday, October 28th.
